"Surely, He took our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgression, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed."  Isaiah 53:4-5

RED

Red is the colour of passion, blood, lover's roses and berry-flavoured wives. It is also the colour of danger, revolution and anger. It is a dramatic colour and not one for the weak spirited.

The brilliant shades such as vermillion and scarlet have connotations of being red hot, angry or dangerous and may, when used in a room, caused the occupants to fel overheated, irritable and even bad tempered.

It's the colour that is said to be able to help poor circulation., Sitting in a red room or wrapped in a vibrant red blanket will psychologically make you feel warmer and more secure. Red is also reported to revitalize someone who feels lethargic and to improve energy levels.

Red can also said to be auspicious. Red is also a primary colour and so one of the three, along with yellow and blue, that stand alone in their pure state and are not created by mixing or blending with other pigments.

Red is a colour often linked with royalty and with overtures of grandeur. It gives off an aura of warmth and can also imply richness. The expression getting the 'red carpet treatment' means that you are treated as a VIP, someone special.

Red brings to mind bloodshed. Through the pages of the papers each day, one hears of bloodshed. The first sin of man against man recorded in the Bible involved bloodshed (Cain killed his own brother Abel). Bloodshed in the ultimate atrocity men inflict one one another. As though it was not enough, men has inflicted the worst bloody atrocity no other men had suffered but on the Son of God although not knowing that it was God's plan that His Son was to die that way to suffer for the punishment of their won sins including the worst sin of bloodshed.

THE BLOOD

The blood is the lifeline of all flesh. It affects the vital functions of both the body, soul and spirit. The body and soul are governed by man himself. The spirit belongs to God and is His timeless lifeline of commission with man.

On that decisive day when man sinned, a barrier stood between the lifelime of God and man. Without that lifeline man fell into corruption, decay and death. Sin removed the veil of purity from Adam and Eve's eyes. They saw their nakedness and covered themselves with fig leaves. Instead God make coats of skin from a beast He killed to cover them. In doing so, God creativity employed a visual aid to illustrate the peril of sin and His divine promise to cover its corruption from His sight . . . by th shedding of blood.

The blood was the only solution to deal with sin and to restore man's communion with God. However, the blood covering through animals could do very little to remove the barrier except to temporarily push back the shadow of sickness and death for all who recognises the authority of God. Being a loving God, He desired to do more than simply cover the corruption. God intended, from the foundation of the world, to break through the barrier of sin and restore a man tohis rightful place. To do this, God demanded a sacrificial covering far more potent than the blood of animals.

A man for a man. Adam's sin had infected the bloodline of humanity. It takes the blood of another man with a pure bloodline to be that sacrifice to redeem man to God. Man's sin also required a death penalty. Therefore, the substitute must possess the same race combination of flesh and spirit. Jesus Christ came to earth to become the sole supplier of what was needed to rescue men from condemnation once and for all. The healing balm of divine blood. In doing so, He redeemed us for eternal life though His death.
